Surah Yassin Abdul Basit is one of the most famous Qur’anic reciters and scholars. His name is derived from the Arabic word “Yaseen”, which means “The Virtuous one”. He is a well-known religious figure in the Muslim world and has been referred to as a “Nayyirah” (The best of all those who have come before him). He is an expert in the recitation of the Qur’an and has a beautiful voice that gives the meaning of the Qur’an to the audience.
He was born in the year 1927 AD in the city of “Arment” in the Qena Governorate in southern Egypt. His father, Muhammad Abd al-Samad, was one of the great reciters of the Noble Qur’an in his village. His mother was Umm Al-Mansoora.
